Robespierre, Saint-Just, etc were put in charge and took the Revolution down a more radical path. Led to the storming of the Tuilerries the next day and the King and his Family fled to the Assembly. September 2, 1792 Sans-Culottes stormed Parisian prisons and murdered around 1,300 prisoners. Marked revolution's reputation around the world. Made convention aware of Sans-Culottes wants15) Rally song used by the Revolutionary militants from Marseille. Became a rallying cry for the assault on the Monarchy. Now is the National Anthem of France. 17) Founded in July 16, 1791 by Barnave after the King's flight to Varennes. Committed to making the new constitutional system work. Unleashed the "Great Terror" of the Summer 1794.19) Led by Brissot. Girondins did not wish to kill the King and decided to charge Marat for inciting violence.
